I can’t describe how excited I am about this news … We’ve just launched our first sustainable pole dance collection! Woohoo! It’s been one heck of a journey, but I’m really happy with the results. I think we did a great job and really managed to create a collection for people and the planet.
When I was little, I was already conscious about the environment. In my family, sorting the trash and other environmentally friendly habits always took first priority. But actually, it was my grandfather who really made me passionate about the environment and everything related to it.
So it was really quite a natural decision to try and create a sustainable pole dance collection. It took us some time to convert the idea into reality, but it was worth it. So here it is … our first sustainable pole dance collection. The apparel is made from regenerated yarn called Econyl, which has been transformed from the nylon waste of landfills and oceans around the world. In other words: the material is an eco-friendly stretch fabric made from plastic waste found in the oceans. Cool, right?
The new sustainable collection is just the upgrade of this philosophy. For us, this collection is definitely the start of a new era. And since we’re currently in a very strange period, I guess I’ll see it as a new beginning.
Let’s all take better care of our Mama Earth
With the collection, we really wanted to reduce the carbon footprint and prove that also sustainable clothes can be trendy and comfortable. In my opinion, sustainable clothes certainly need to become the new fashion norm.
Let’s face it: today’s fashion industry is one of the biggest pollutants. It’s all about crazy consumerism. You buy one piece of clothing and a couple of weeks later it’s already in the trash. Those cheap clothes don’t last for long and are full of dangerous chemicals. And people who are making those clothes work in unbearable working conditions.
I don’t want to sound like a preacher, but in this age of information, it’s unacceptable to be ignorant about the topic. When buying clothes, ask yourself as many times as possible: »Who made my clothes?« That’s the least you can do. As I wrote in one of my previous posts, I’m really doing all I can to ensure people who are making our pole dance apparel are doing so in a healthy, happy and positive working environment.
I believe that each and every one of us can make some sort of change, some sort of positive impact. Don’t think that you can’t do anything, that you’re powerless – it’s just not true. Every decision or choice you make, every thought you think … affects our blue planet and our society.
What do you think about the new sustainable collection? In your opinion, what else could we do (as individuals and as a community) to make this world a better place – for us and for future generations? Leave your comments in the section below. I’ll be happy to hear from you.
