Pole dancers, congratulations! You are now officially sportswomen

If you were one of those pole dancers who was ashamed to tell your relatives and friends that you don’t actually go to fitness or zumba when you said you had a workout, well now it’s time to break the truth to them. The chances are that your nearest and dearest have seen the latest news on TV, the radio or internet– pole dance has officially joined other so – called proper sports disciplines.

No more excuses. No more doubts. No more hiding. It’s out in the open. And it’s official. Something you knew long ago, has now become public knowledge.

Better late than never.

Also we, at Poledancerka, are soooo excited that our pole dance apparel finally serves real professional sport. Though for us, respect for the sport stays the same, for others it provides a totally different perception.

Most of the credit for that has to go to the persistent and dedicated Katie Coates, president of the international pole sports federation (IPSF), who has been working on her mission for 11 years.

Can you imagine? At the end of 2017 she finally made it, and the Global Association of International Sports Federation (GAISF) has confirmed that pole dancing is now classed as a professional sport.

One goal has been reached – with the energy of all of you/us who love this discipline and practise it.

But new visionary objectives have already been set. Katie Coates is now focused on an additional goal – making pole dancing a part of the Olympic Games.

And I think it’s totally reachable since we poledancers have one important shared characteristic – a positive attitude which helps us to make the impossible possible!

P.S. What does this victory mean for you – that pole dancing is now officially and internationally recognised as a proper sport? Do you have any of your own anecdotes that show how pole dance has helped you to make something impossible possible?

Her and his red Valentine’s dreams

Yesterday I did an experiment with my man. I reminded him about Valentine’s Day, which is coming soon, and asked him what would be his dream celebration for the day. And he didn’t even need a second to think as he shot back: ‘your performance on the pole, especially for me, which you can continue in our bedroom…’ (take into account that he knows I practise pole dance and is very supportive… but if I think again, I guess that wouldn’t matter for most men.)

‘Oh, my God’ I thought, ‘you men are so predictable’. I guess if I asked any other man, I bet the answer would be boringly similar.

But what can we do? There’s a reason behind the saying ‘men are from Mars and women are from Venus’.

And no matter how much effort we pole dancers put into creating the perception that pole dance has nothing to do with sexuality (because it hasn’t), what can be wrong in fulfilling your supportive man’s dreams once in a while?

Let him be lucky and experience that he has a pole dancer for a girl and prepare for him a special dance – a Valentine’s dance. It can still be classy, artistic, sporty and sensual.

But if his dreams are fulfilled, why wouldn’t yours be too?

And believe it or not, I also didn’t need a second to identify and share my dreams with him… but those will stay our little secret…

In case you need an idea for your Valentine’s Day, you can just show you boyfriend a pair of nice red Poledancerka knee pads that can spice up your everyday style in the dance hall – as well as spice up the performance you might be preparing for him. The colour red will also give you additional power and sensuality that will help you become more self-confident.

P.S. If you’d like you can participate in our informal experiment and share your Valentine’s Day dreams or celebration, please add your comments below.

Poledancerka blog part of the world’s crème de la crème

You know that feeling when you feel kind of invisible in a crowd of people… Where no-one is paying attention to you. It seems like everyone is busy with their thing…

And then suddenly it happens…

Is seems like the world has stopped. As if everyone is holding their breath. You can almost hear the silence that occurs…

In an instant, you are kind of pulled out of your thoughts and thrown into reality. You take a look at what the hell is going on…

Than you notice HER. Like you’re watching a slow motion movie. She is taking up a space, filling it with her glamorous style and energy.

I know what you’re thinking. I bet you wanna be in HER shoes.

And let me reveal to you a secret – you can be!

I’m speaking from my own experience.

Well, for Poledancerka, last year was really the most successful so far.

We are so proud to have become part of the world’s crème de la crème among pole dance blogs. And not only being in such a good company, but even winning 20th place among 75 pole dance world’s blogs.

Getting recognition like that is a true honour and commitment for the future. We’ll continue to serve you with style and inspire you with positive and interesting news about pole dancing and seductive pole dance apparel.

Our desire is to help you become HER – YOU!

Just put on your sensual clothes and reach out!

So remember: first you have to dream, kick yourself into action and then… you get to experience and live your dreams. So simple and available.

Do you have your own experience with seeing HER coming into the room? Feel free to share all the juicy details: who was she, where and when it happened, what was she doing, how did she look…?

Second successful year for Poledancerka

Now I get it… It’s December and the year will soon come to an end.

This is one reason why me and my team are drowning in a sea of different sized packages at the moment!

It’s time for presents :)

And Marion Crampe once said that Poledancerka knee pads are like jewellery for the knees.

Obviously that kind of ‘jewellery’ is not time sensitive since it’s ‘gift-able’ throughout the whole year. But old Santa has become a modern giver or at least he loves to include something modern and with quality in his presents. Specially if his presents contribute to the beautiful and pleasurable side of life.

The second reason for Poledancerka team’s ‘dance’ around the bundle of goodies (if you could see us, you’d definitely be giggling… but you can still imagine us…) is the second successful year of our activities.

Yeey, we are so happy and grateful that we were all able to glow and shine during our challenges in 2017. We are forever honoured to have your trust (be it as a user of Poledancerka’s apparel or as a reader of our blog) and to have you as part of our tribe.

The journey of 2017 was really an enjoyable one, though it was not always easy (like life). We worked hard and we partied hard. We were at the center of the biggest pole event in the world – Pole Expo in Las Vegas, USA, and at the biggest pole event in Europe – Croatia Pole Camp. But in November, our blog was even selected as one of the Top 75 Pole Dance Blogs on the web, and won 20th place. Woo hoo…

The year 2017 was also marked by a few extra playful and creative highlights. We launched some very special limited editions of our apparel. It turned out to be a good idea, because you obviously totally loved Poledancerka’s baby pink collection. It was just extra proof of how much you like our fun and upbeat products. But it was also a special honor to develop and then launch this December a special edition in cooperation with Marion Crampe – Marion for Poledancerka Limited edition knee pads. Extra shiny and glowing, they are even more obvious as knee jewellery.

So, in the year 2018 let’s all keep staying centred, creative, playful and show up for life!

If it’s any use, I’m sharing with you some advice that helps me stay motivated: if it gets hard, put on your favourite lipstick and wear sensual clothes.

Have as much fun as you can in 2018! All the best!

Before you dive into 2018, tell me what are your wishes/desires/resolutions for the New Year? (If you haven’t thought them through, now is a good chance, because it’s always important to know where you’re heading.)

Long live the pink

Poledancerka made an impact this October with a contribution to Breast Cancer Awareness Month. October kicked off with our baby pink sensual tops and shorts, that proved to be so popular with the girls that wore them proudly at this year’s Croatia Pole Camp in Pula. Among the girls, even knee pads in pink or baby pink were more desirable this year (since mostly all the girls already had black, which were still good as new – a reflection of the quality of Poledancerka’s knee pads).

It was really important for Poledancerka to share our support and help raise awareness of the fight against cancer – especially as pole dance can help women who practice it connect with themselves and find their most comfortable flow of being and, without shame, freely express who they are, their sensuality and other emotions.

Croatia Pole Camp again, confirmed that our brand Poldancerka definitely helps women to love the skin they’re in and glow with confidence in an apparel that fits them well and looks cute. But the biggest pole camp in Europe was also magical, because the group of approximately 500 girls that return to this event are extremely positive and judgement-free. So it’s really nice to meet old friends again.

Numerous participants also enjoyed many workshops (even a special surprise – a free workshop held by the much cherished and popular pole dancer and instructor Marion Crampe), competitions and performances. This year we saw for the first time Pole Art of Croatia, in which the Slovenian competitor Tjaša Dobravec performed. Tjaša Dobravec, who wore a custom made bodysuit by Poledancerka, achieved 2nd place.

Other contestants and instructors also wore Poledancerka apparel and knee pads – such as Nikolina Nekić (Sportvizija Pole Dance Studio), Sonia La Sognatrice Silveri… while Daria Chebotova didn’t wear knee pads until she came across Poledancerka’s knee pads, which she totally loves.

So girls, I invite you to join me and our pole dancer’s tribe to focus together on the pleasurable side of life and be fearless! Let’s stay centred and show up in life! Let’s savour the moments and handle challenges with style!

Destination – Las Vegas! Pole Expo visitors fascinated by Poledancerka’s baby pink knee pads

This September was marked by a visit Pole Expo 2017, one of the biggest pole events on the international calendar. It was Poledancerka’s second time in Las Vegas and I must say that I had even a more amazing time than the first time round, which I didn’t think was possible at all. It’s an amazing feeling to be in the middle of the pole dance vortex, to see some old friends and make new ones. It was also so nice to see big stars, like Marion Crampe, Phoenix Kazree, Natash Wang, Anna-Maija Nyman  and many other pole dancers, wearing Poledancerka knee pads and outfits during wonderful workshops and outstanding performances.

The event gets better and better each year. This year, it had a spectacular schedule filled with workshops, competitions, performances, seminars, contests, parties and vendor booths. The main vendor hall housed over 60 vendors from around the globe, and guess what, it was my first time having my very own vendor booth there! I am especially proud that Poledancerka’s booth was crowded all the time, and I got extremely positive feedback from the lovely customers.

The new Baby Pink knee pads were sold out in just a few hours. Woooohooo! Check it out -what the big rush was about ;). The new Poledancerka joggers were also presented for the first time and given to the adorable Swedish pole dancer as part of the Pole Expo’s giveaway.

After a long weekend mingling, meeting new people from all over the world and linking up with some amazing pole stars, I am very excited to continue to create and deliver unique and high quality Poledancerka apparel your way.

Have you visited Pole Expo this year and what was your best memory from there? Which pole events do you also like?

Dust off your pole dance wardrobe and get ready for a new season

Remember that feeling of a fresh new start…With summer slowly waving goodbye, there are still pleasant things to look forward to…

Time to get in touch with your sexy, confident side again. There’s always so much excitement for the new pole season and all it has to offer.

You can never have too much pole dance in your life. But we all know that starting everything at once can be tough. You need to manage school, work, pole dance, friends, and any other activities you might have.

And you’re not going to pick up exactly where you left off. Your muscle memory is all probably still there, but your flexibility and conditioning will need a little time. Work towards it but don’t force it. You need time to catch up to where you were last season, and for your body to remember its way around the pole. You’ll love it.

Remember that – you will progress again!

To make a transition smoother, do something to make you feel that this is a new season – one with new challenges, new memories and new goals. Clean out your pole dance bag, get the Forte – Piano ‘eyes-on-me’ pole dance top , hot Brazilian shorts or maybe the  Powder Opera Bodysuit all by Poledancerka. And be proud of what you have already achieved.

P.S. Let us know – which is your favourite pole dance studio? What type of pole dance do you go for? What is your favourite piece of pole clothing that you can’t live without?

Give a touch of femininity to your beach wear with trendy, comfortable and sensual pole dance clothes

Long sandy beaches, a beautiful sunset, cocktails or a cool glass of wine in hand…  It’s what we dream about while slogging away those long hours at work or studying at the library for the last exams. We just can’t stop thinking of blue skies, sandy beaches and what we are going to be wearing on our holidays. A girl can dream, right? :)

The Poledancerka collection has everything you need to make a style statement this summer. And as we all know, versatility is power within any wardrobe.

Actually you might already have the most stylish beach wear in your closet. You could easily wear your pole dance clothes and make a stylish impact on the sand or by the pool. Give a touch of femininity to your beach wear with the trendy, comfortable and sensual Poledancerka  Opera Bodysuit. Your bikini can easily be paired with Sensual shorts, giving you a little extra coverage while you play beach volley. And when you pair high-waisted shorts with a top, you’ll be both pool-party and beach-ready.

Add a splash of chic –quickly grab your favourite items as summer is just around the corner! And don’t forget your sunscreen ;) .

What are your sensual dreams for this summer? Will you embrace dynamic activities with lots of movement or will the long summer days be the opportunity you need to chill out by the pool or on the sandy beaches?

Summer is on its way… Sculpture your body with pole dance

“Will pole dance help me lose weight?”

This is one of the most frequently asked questions from prospective pole dancers. Like any other form of workout, it’s all about what you put into it.

And let me assure you – you can do it too!

So, what’s the secret?

As spring rolls around the corner, it’s a good time to start thinking about getting active. If you’re looking for a way to burn some calories while you channel your inner diva, pole dancing offers a perfect solution. It’s possible to burn up to 500 calories in just one class, perhaps more if you train intensively. With a more toned body, you will soon find your confidence increasing. And best of all – you don’t have to eat less, you just have to eat right :).

There is a difference between weight loss and fat loss. You can lose muscle, gain fat and still lose weight. For a lasting change and for improved muscle definition, you have to lift heavy things – like yourself, which we do all the time in pole dancing ;) . Muscle requires more energy to be maintained than body fat, so even when resting you are still burning more calories.

Pole dance is known to sculpture your whole body, with emphasis on the abdomen, and takes care of your beautiful hands from the shoulders down. And if you want visible and quick results, it’s perfectly adequate to train two times per week. But if you are going to train throughout the whole year, once a week is sufficient to stay in shape. It’s all up to you and your goals: how sculptured you want your body to be and in what time frame.

Here’s anadditional trick: wear clothes that fit well, but also make you feel pretty. For a comfy and sexy look, girls tell me that Poledancerka Opera bodysuit and these black Poledancerka Pull up, pull down Brazil shorts  (which also come in size L and XL) work perfectly well for hiding a few extra pounds.

So yes, pole dance classes can be great for weight loss. However, you need to realize that attractiveness comes from within. Workout for your own enjoyment, fitness and health and stop worrying about what anyone else thinks!

Keep me posted how you’re doing: have you already achieved the perfect shape? Where do you stand at the moment?

Is looking good at the pole class important?

For me, wearing chic pole wear is not about what others think when they see me dancing. It’s about how the pole dance clothes make me feel about myself. And I firmly believe that when you look good, you feel good – and that’s important when you’re pole dancing. It helps you feel comfortable, confident and inspired.

A new pole dancer doesn’t need to show ‘too much’ straight away. Don’t worry you can keep your butt completely covered at the beginning. But trust me, sooner or later, most of the girls wanna enjoy their sexy stylish brazilian shorts. You really do use the skin on your thighs to grip the pole so wearing longer shorts, tights or leggings can soon become frustrating. Grip is everything in pole! Wearing a tight-fitting top to do your pole work is preferable, because it keeps your breasts in place – even when you’re upside down. But on the other hand, it’s important that your dancing apparel (especially bodysuits) allows you some extra skin exposure on your ribs, around the shoulders, under your arms, abdominal area, as well as on your back to help with some positions. Fear not….as your confidence grows on the pole, you’ll want to wear something a bit cuter. Basically, this means awesome designs, flashy colours, prints and sexy bum cuts. Yay!

But just because it’s cute, it doesn’t mean it’s right for the pole class. Pick something cute and functional too ;). To get you looking great on the pole, I’ve made an amazing, comfortable and adorable collection that is functional, stylish and budget friendly. You do not want to spend much time and money on pole clothes that don’t last and don’t offer the coverage or support needed. Poledancerka clothes are perfect for allowing your body to move freely while also looking fashion-forward. Every product that we sell is tested on professional pole dancers as well as myself, because I don’t sell anything I wouldn’t be delighted to purchase myself.

“Yes, this is what I feel comfy in and expresses who I am – and that’s all I strive for!”

How important is looking good at the pole class for you?

What do you strive for when it comes to looking good?
